The Armchair of Dreams
Cinema and the Unconscious
Cinema and the Unconscious
Presentation:
Cinema and psychoanalysis are "siblings" born in the same historical period, both capable of exploring the spaces between dreams and reality, awakening memories, emotions, and often hidden thoughts. Like dreams, films allow us to delve into the depths of the unconscious, offering insights and opportunities for emotional growth. Traditionally known as the "dream factory" on one hand and a "window to the unconscious" on the other, their union creates what Guglielmucci calls learning from dreams—a transformative and cathartic experience, a form of informal learning and personal development.
We envisioned a transformative journey that combines cinema and psychoanalysis—an experience to explore our inner world while connecting with the collective unconscious. This journey offers participants a profound connection with themselves and others. Each month, a new film (introduced by Giulia Verdat) opens the day, followed by a Social Dreaming session (Antonio Succi), where cinema becomes a tool for deep reflection and personal growth.
